I’m from the North East of England, for my Dayjob, I work for a large Automotive Manufacturer but by night or more likely the weekend I become Barefoothumble, maker of custom beads, prys and coins and more.
I was interested in EDC gear when I was alot younger and usually carried a cheap no-name multitool in my pockets ‘just incase’.
After I rekindled my love of EDC gear I started to realise that it was crazy expensive to buy some of the gear I was seeing on Instagram and Facebook, I was a little disheartened and thought hey, you know what? I’ll make my own beads and pry bars.
I love making things, as a child I would make a Santa alarm for my bedroom door so I could catch him leaving my stocking, I made school desk alarms to stop my classmates stealing things out of my desk during CDT lessons at school. My favourite classes were electronics and woodworking.
One of my favourte products I was commissioned to make would be the Barlow pry, at first, it was a pretty scary prospect to be tasked with because until then I had never tried anything like it, a Barlow style knife but in the fourm of a prybar! It was a crazy idea but I managed it first time and it worked out great!
